It's not as momentous as breaking the sound barrier, or as noisy, but it is a milestone and I didn't even notice when it happened! So thank you to everyone who has popped in and read my ramblings over the last 11 years. Your continuing support is very much appreciated, unless you are a data trawling bot, you aren't a data trawling bot are you? I thought not! So here's hoping I don't need another 11 years to reach 300,000 views.
Sorry to be the party pooper but I'd estimate that between 1/3 and 1/2 of hits on my blog are indeed data-trawling bots! It's interesting to click on 'more about this blog' in the Stats page, and look at the countries that hits are coming from - I'm afirad I don't really believe that Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia have more wargamers than the US and UK!
ReplyDeleteI have recently read about 'the dead internet theory' which posits that eventually there could be no actual humans using the web, and there was a related epsiode of BBC Radio 4's show 'The Artificial Human' on a similar subject, the world of 'Shrimp Jesus' and 'AI Slop'

Congratulations anyway, on reaching this milestone, and here's to the next 150K.
Of course, I am not a data trawling bot.. or am I?
Hi David my suspicion is that most hits from those locations are bots. As for whether you are a bot or not, check inside your left elbow for a barcode LOL
DeleteCongratulations! 150,000 is 150,000 regardless of bots. Here's to the next 150,000!
